[Advantage Logistics<\/a><\/span>] CMA CGM Group has announced a switchover in its spot pricing to a fully digital, instant, and dynamic process, presenting SpotOn, an instant spot quote at a guaranteed price and priority space allocated onboard the ship after booking.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CMA CGM said it will provide its customers with access to the digitally-enhanced version of its spot pricing tool via SpotOn, a new online product integrated with My CMA CGM that simplifies the booking process.<\/p>\n

The digital overhaul of CMA CGM\u2019s pricing systems has been designed in conjunction with Pricemoov, a French start-up specialised in smart, dynamic pricing.<\/p>\n

“This key digital transition in our pricing systems of shipping will provide our customers with greater flexibility so they can adapt to the rapid changes in the market, and it makes for a smoother user experience,” stated Olivier Nivoix, the CMA CGM Group’s executive vice-president.<\/p>\n

SpotOn has already been available since July for all customers on CMA CGM\u2019s and CNC\u2019s shipping services on six trades: Asia\u2013Europe, Mediterranean\u2013Asia, Asia\u2013East Coast of South America, Asia\u2013West Africa, Indian sub-continent\u2013Europe, and Intra-Asia.<\/p>\n

Extension of this product to all the group\u2019s other trades and brands began on 17 January and will continue throughout the first six months of 2022, according to a statement.<\/p>\n

The new SpotOn online service accounts for over 60% of spot volumes, as it can instantly provide a quote for a given journey, with a transparent price that is guaranteed for 24 hours. Space onboard the ship is then allocated on a priority basis as soon as the booking has been confirmed.<\/p>\n

The Marseille-headquartered shipping company added that its customers can have value-added services in the CMA CGM+ range that can be accessed directly via SpotOn and can sign up simply and rapidly and include them in their quotes. In particular, customers can opt for the ACT with CMA CGM+ services, a full range of solutions enabling them to reduce their environmental impact, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n

“Accelerating innovation and digitalization is one of the key pillars of the CMA CGM Group\u2019s strategy for meeting its customers\u2019 needs by developing smarter, more secure solutions,” commented Nivoix.<\/p>\n
