From January to September 2024, Port Houston handled 3,120,589 TEUs, marking a 10% increase over the same period in 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Loaded imports rose by 4% in September and 8% year-to-date, while loaded exports were down 8% for September, but up 10% year-to-date.<\/p>\n<p>September\u2019s container volume reached 329,462 TEUs, translating to a marginal 1% increase from the same month last year. Steel imports at Port Houston\u2019s multipurpose facilities saw substantial growth, up 25% compared to the same month last year. Total tonnage across all public facilities has reached 39,444,673 tons for the first nine months, up 4% year-over-year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Port Houston we are moving more containers than ever before, having reached the 3 million TEU mark already this year. This milestone reflects strong customer demand and our commitment to delivering a low-cost and low-risk proposition to our customers that is anchored in service excellence,\u201d stated Charlie Jenkins, CEO of Port Houston.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the Bayport Container Terminal set a new milestone with the arrival of its largest vessel, CMA CGM Cassiopeia.
