Atlas Air, a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, has officially received a Boeing 777-200 Freighter as part of its ongoing collaboration with MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In line with their long-term ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, insurance) agreement, Atlas Air is deploying four 777 aircraft globally on behalf of MSC, enhancing MSC’s capacity and reach for its clientele. This marks the fourth 777 to commence operations, following deliveries in November 2022, July 2023, and November 2023.<\/p>\n

“This latest 777 Freighter delivery represents a pivotal moment and significant milestone for our company as it marks the completion of our first set of aircrafts in partnership with Atlas Air. This new and enhanced fleet will empower us to elevate our offering, ensuring enhanced support for our valued clients and a stronger presence in the market” explained Anders Matikka, vice president of Air Cargo division at MSC.<\/p>\n

Having commenced operations on 11 January, this newly acquired aircraft complements MSC Air Cargo’s existing weekly service, which includes a route from Hong Kong (HKG) to Dallas\/Fort Worth (DFW).<\/p>\n

“Since launching our first 777 over one year ago, we have valued our ongoing collaboration with MSC as they continue to grow their Air Cargo solution for their customers. We look forward to continuing to build upon our strategic partnership,” stated Richard Broekman, chief commercial officer and head of sustainability of Atlas Air Worldwide.<\/p>\n

According to a statement, the 777 Freighter is the longest-range and most capable twin-engine freighter flying, known for its high reliability, fuel efficiency and lower maintenance and operating costs. It has a range of 4,970 nautical miles (9,200 km) and a maximum structural payload of 235,900 pounds (107 tonnes). The 777 Freighter also meets quota count standards for maximum accessibility to noise-sensitive airports around the globe.<\/p>\n
