TAAG Angola Airlines has added a leased Boeing 737-800 freighter to its fleet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On December 19, the 24-ton capacity aircraft undertook its first flight, a charter service, on a Luanda, Angola-Lagos, Nigeria-Luanda route.<\/p>\n

This was also the first cargo flight carried out from Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport, Angola\u2019s new international airport that was opened last month.<\/p>\n

The airport is set to gradually replace Quatro de Fevereiro Airport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis major milestone is part of the company\u2019s strategy to progressively increasing its footprint within the regional African air cargo market,\u201d said the state-owned airline.<\/p>\n

The airline has also taken delivery of two Boeing 737-700 passenger aircraft.<\/p>\n

Overall, the three aircraft will cover domestic and regional destinations, said TAAG Angola Airlines.<\/p>\n

TAAG Angola Airlines said it is adding \u201cnew resources into the cargo segment in order to procure new contracts or non regular cargo services\u201d.<\/p>\n

TAAG currently operates to 18 destinations in Angola and 16 international destinations in South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.<\/p>\n

Network Airline Management (NAM) currently has an agreement with TAAG to provide a weekly 747F scheduled service from Liege, Belgium, to Luanda.<\/p>\n

NAM provides a 747-400F aircraft with nose door capability which carries up to 120,000 kilos of cargo on its core flight schedule.<\/p>\n
